Our History, our Roots
In 1951, on the hills between Florence and Fiesole near San Domenico, the CISL Training Study Centre was founded. From its very beginnings, CISL chose to invest in the cultural and professional development of its staff, leaders, and operators, in order to strengthen and promote its founding values: autonomy, pragmatism, pluralism, democracy, and participation.
Those who encounter it leave a part of themselves here and, inevitably, return.
From this “place of the soul,” which over time has embodied the extraordinary vision of the “new trade union,” thousands of people have passed through—many of whom went on to become key figures in Italian social and industrial life. A unique space for relationships, study, and dialogue, the Study Centre combines deep-rooted traditions with a strong orientation toward the future, becoming an ideal point of reference for national and international associations, institutions, and universities. Those who encounter it leave a part of themselves here and, inevitably, return.
Location
The CISL Training Study Centre enjoys a commanding position overlooking the city, the “cradle of the Renaissance,” and is surrounded by the greenery of the Florentine hills, within an area of approximately 28,000 square meters, home to over 100 centuries-old olive trees, just a short distance from the historic centers of Florence and Fiesole.
For those who stay here, the view is extraordinary, and the sense of calm that welcomes visitors creates the ideal environment for study and training experiences.

Accommodation
We offer 54 rooms with private bathrooms, all equipped with hairdryer, air conditioning, refrigerator, TV, and safe. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is available throughout the property.
Some of our rooms overlook the hills of Fiesole, while others face the 19th-century villa that serves as the entrance to the complex.
Catering
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in our self-service restaurant. Upon request, it is possible to organize table-served meals with special menus, buffets, and coffee breaks.
A bar service can be activated according to the needs of ongoing events, while vending machines offering hot drinks, soft drinks, and water are always available.

Mitico centro di formazione sindacale della CISL nato negli anni 50 ha formato intere generazioni di dirigenti sindacali. Incastonato nelle colline tra Firenze e Fiesole, costituito da un corpo centrale con una splendida villa padronale del 1700/1800 circondata da un terreno agricolo coltivato ad oliveto e un bel giardino. Le camere sono monacali ma corrispondono alla filosofia e necessità del Centro Studi.

Centro di formazione della cisl situato sulla collina che porta a Fiesole. Viene utilizzato normalmente dalle varie federazione della CISL ma viene anche utilizzate dalle aziende che hanno bisogno di svolgere corsi di aggiornamento in una location tranquilla e con tutti i confort. È possibile anche soggiornarvi da privato cittadino

Meeting Rooms
The CISL Study Centre offers modern and versatile spaces for training: six large classrooms accommodating up to 100 participants, and four smaller rooms ideal for group work. All spaces are equipped with video projectors, whiteboards, and sound systems in the main halls.
The flexibility of the spaces makes it possible to organize courses, meetings, and workshops in a stimulating and welcoming environment, fostering an effective learning experience.
Additional equipment, such as simultaneous translation booths and dedicated audio-video systems, is available upon request.
How to Reach Us
By Train
From Santa Maria Novella Station, exit on the baggage claim side (platform 16) and take the tram, line T2. Get off at the “Libertà” stop, where the terminus of bus no. 7 (direction Fiesole) is located. Get off at the San Domenico Presidio ASL stop. Via della Piazzuola runs parallel to the hospital; after approximately 400 meters you will find the CISL Study Centre.
By Car
Exit the motorway at FIRENZE SUD. Follow the signs to Fiesole, keeping left, until you reach Via di San Domenico. Via della Piazzuola is on the left just after the hospital (San Domenico Presidio ASL). The Study Centre car park is accessible from street number 69/A.
By Plane
The Study Centre can be reached directly by taking the tram (Line T2) to the “Libertà” stop, where the terminus of bus no. 7 (direction Fiesole) is located. Get off at the San Domenico Presidio ASL stop. Via della Piazzuola runs parallel to the hospital; after approximately 400 meters you will find the CISL Study Centre.
